Our Story
Selah Pilates & Wellness was born from a desire to create something more than just another fitness studio. Founder Leah Rodgers, a lifelong mover and educator, initially began her Pilates journey through Club Pilates’ 500-hour Comprehensive Teacher Training. However, when the pandemic cut her apprentice hours short, she found herself at a crossroads. Rather than giving up, she saw it as an opportunity to dive deeper into the professional world of Pilates.
This led her to pursue Stott Pilates certification, specializing in sports medicine-based Pilates and injury prevention, and to further her education with REAL PILATES with Alycea Ungaro, a 600-hour Classical Pilates teacher training program rooted in the legacy teachings of Joseph Pilates & Romana Kryzanowska. These experiences solidified her passion for both contemporary and classical Pilates, deepening her understanding of movement and rehabilitation.
Leah’s personal journey also shaped Selah’s mission. Following the sudden passing of her mother, she sought a fitness approach that wasn’t just about aesthetics but about building strength, stability, and longevity. Selah was founded to provide a space where movement is more than exercise—it’s a tool for lifelong wellness. Here, clients don’t just work out; they learn, grow, and move in ways that support them for life.
